Congratulations to Greg Parker of Parker’s Kitchen on being named Convenience Store News 2025 Retailer Executive of the Year!

Greg Parker is the founder and long-term CEO of Parker’s Kitchen. He has grown Parker’s Kitchen from one store in 1976 to the 100th store grand opening in April 2025.

Previously CS News awarded Greg Parker with the Top Tech Executive award in 2013, and named him to the Hall of Fame in 2020.

Rutter’s goes big
with 14,000 sq ft stores

Rutter’s is going big with their largest stores ever. Two new locations will be 14,000 sq ft. These massive locations go way beyond the traditional c-store format, with ample room for spacious seating, gaming, TV’s, and even a bar area.

Maverik opens first c-store in Michigan

Long-time PriceAdvantage customer Maverik is expanding into Michigan. CStoreDive reported on the expansion here.

The c-store is located in the city of Wyoming, about 7 miles south of downtown Grand Rapids. Michigan marks Maverik’s 22nd state of operation, with Kansas being the 21st state last month.

As of last month, Maverik had completed over 180 Kum & Go rebrands across Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri. Maverik has over 800 convenience stores, all running with PriceAdvantage for retail fuel price management with fuel pricing sign integration. Maverik is based out of Salt Lake City.

The Most Innovative Companies list represents companies for their product innovation, process innovation and innovation culture. Sheetz is the only convenience store retail chain on the list this year.
